Been searching for a long term use daily tumbler, and did a ton of research comparing well known brands e.g. Stanley, Owala, Simple Modern, etc. Pros and cons for all but narrowed down to HJ mainly due to (i) embedded straw, see through lid, ambidexterity enabled and proper rubber base (without real need for boot). Price is higher than competitors but worth it still. Btw, I watched countless online videos (incld those by HJ themselves) to understand product to a T. You can def say research hsa been thorough, to put it mildly.
CONCERNS
Concerns (well publicized) were largely related to mold formation esp around straw mechanism after time.
So far, used it a mth so not best position to comment on that but I restricted myself (preference as well) to just drinking plain water as I prefer warm water throughout the day. Keeps cold (very long, like whole day) better than warm (maybe 3 hrs or so b4 you need topup for a warmish experience).
OVERALL
I would say go ahead and splash the cash. Great designed product, care has been invested and as long as mold issue does not become big one, HJ still a neck ahead. Moving forward, I would love to see modifications to enhence mold aspect (enable cleaning better), better price (of course) and weight reduction where possible. Mind you, it's slightly lighter than a Stanley so that's already a win.
I'm still a HJ camp advocate, and would still have bought it per se.
And oh, did I mention I emailed them asking for assistance for special discount due to my medical reasons and got no reply (not even a customary reply). Well, money talks and I guess it's tough love for me. That said, I still love you HJ and thanks for the delivery and design :)

June 13, 2024I am in love with this cup! I was very hesitant when I got it, because I have Stanleys and have loved those. I wasn't sure if I would love the quality, color, and if it would really measure up to the Stanley. I've had this for 2 days now and after the first day, I realized how much I loved it even more so than my Stanley. Here's why. This actually keeps my water colder and for longer than my Stanley. I even have straw covers for my Stanleys, and they don't keep my water cold for nearly as long as my hydrojug. My water is also much colder with the hydrojug than even the Stanley. I believe the reason why is due to the seal that is created to make the cup leak proof. I feel like this helps to insulate the cup even more. I got this cup because I have a toddler who loves to play with my cups and I am always worried about my Stanleys being knocked around and spilling. There is absolutely no leaking whatsoever with this cup and I'm still shocked even though I've seen this in pictures! That right there is my top reason. I also love the straw with this versus the straws with the Stanleys. It's hard to describe why, but I think the size and sturdiness are why. I also LOVE this color! It's even prettier in person! My ONLY fear, based off reading other reviews, is that the handle or straw will break. I will see as I use this over the next couple of months. But so far, it's amazing and even better than I expected. Updating after just a couple weeks of use: I still LOVE it! It is so much easier to use than a Stanley, because I can carry it around without having to worry about spilling! I took it with us on vacation and it made things so much easier! It stays cold for so long too! I love that the straw can't be pulled out! My toddler loves to take straws out of cups and she can't do that with this! So far, the cup is holding up well! I will update again once I've had it for a while!Update: I've now had this cup for going on 6 months and it still works exactly like it did when I purchased it! It's held up nice and strong, even through many drops and bangs. It still doesn't leak and keeps my water ice cold for hours. The only downfall is I took the lid apart to clean it, and now the straw makes a noise everytime I drink from it. But that's not a manufacturer error, that's a user error. I think I messed something up when I took it apart. However, it still works just as well! Overall, it's still my favorite cup to use!
Cheaply made

June 30, 2024I was very excited to get this product. Overall my experience with the company and the product was extremely poor. First they shipped me someone else's product. Then they sent me the right order. It was good at first but after a couple of months I noticed the water was not staying cold and it was regularly leaking. I kept having to tighten the lid more and more. It eventually got to the point I was tightening it so much that I was having a hard time opening it again. Finally one day when turning the lid to open it, while holding the handle, the handle broke off. I emailed the company and they told me they see a dent on the bottle which means I dropped it and thats why the handle came off. I recommend anyone who buys this item to becareful as this company will make any excuse not to stand by their over priced product. Anyone who has had a product like this before knows that by dropping the bottles, the handles that are bolted in would never just pop off. Another cheaply made item. Not recommended. Looks good but doesn't work well.
Cute color, just some design flaws on cleaning the cap

February 18, 2024I've had this for about two weeks now
Using it primarily to drink water nothing else
It keeps my water icy cold. Let's be real, nobody should have to test and review how long the ice lasts in the cup with the same amount of water.
If I wanted to keep the cup full of water, you'll expect a cup full of ice. But if you're consuming water, refilling it up with more water throughout 8-10 hours in a day, expect your ice to melt. It's the reality and my water stays nice and cold.
I haven't dropped it yet to experience any dings or broke mouth piece. I just wish it included an extra straw.
I do let the cap air dry overnight to avoid mold building up in the tiny corners underneath the straw that has a rubber / silicone part between the plastic cap and the straw. It's not easy to take apart to clean otherwise I would've given this an easy 5 star rating. given I have a teal I wouldn't recommend boiling the lid either as you may stain the silicone.
The best part, it doesn't leak and it's double threaded for ambidextrous people like myself.
Pros:
Flip straw - I don't have to worry about straw exposure
Ambidextrous flip straw
Leak proof
Cute color
Keeps beverage cold over 24 hours
Con:
Hard to clean the corner that some people have addressed mold build up on tiktok / Facebook (thankfully no mold experience yet just let it air dry over night)
Should include a boot to avoid dings
Doesn't come with extra straw like most competitive bottles do
I'm curious if there's lifetime warranty on these things, as some big companies offer any case of any defects
Now I've seen and read people have bad experience not receiving theirs on time. The email disclosed on when items shipped based on inventory and if it's a preorder / sale item
Their customer service does take at least 48 hours. So sending more than one inquiry will put you at the bottom of the waiting list.
